Rockcliffe Riverine Public Art Program

ART+PUBLIC UnLtd is working with Stantec and the City of Toronto on the Rockcliffe Riverine Flood Mitigation Project. We developed a Public Art Strategy to guide future public art opportunities across the entire Rockcliffe Flood Mitigation Project site, managed the public art selection process for Jane Street and Scarlett Road bridges and are currently managing project implementation.

From research and synthesis ART+PUBLIC UnLtd identified challenges, opportunities and goals that shape the vision and direction for Public Art.

The Rockcliffe Riverine Public Art Program is embedded within the Rockcliffe Riverine Flood Mitigation Project and will unfold over the span of 3 phases. Timing for the plan is tied to the overall remediation and construction across various locations.

Through a City of Toronto public art competition facilitated by Art+Public UnLtd, Shani Tomassini was selected to develop and design an artwork alongside Stantec Principal Landscape Architect, Mike Dartizio. The future artwork will be attuned to the surrounding landscape, which is a hybrid of green space with industrial infrastructure.
